I am excited to announce that the recipient of the 2011 Prism Award is Arlington County Government. Heartfelt congratulations go to nominating coach Lynnette Yount of Lynnette Yount Associates, Inc., Emma Kiendl, PCC (manager training and organization development), Sandra Brody, ACC (training and OD specialist), and the entire team dedicated to and involved in championing the coaching initiative. Presented annually by the ICF Metro DC Chapter, the Prism Award recognizes and honors an organization that has acted as a prism for our profession … shedding new light on all that we do and revealing the full spectrum of what coaching has to offer. Arlington County’s coaching program was selected for fulfilling this purpose, through its commitment to creating excellence and enhanced business performance through coaching. Representatives from Arlington County’s coaching program will be on hand at the Prism Award luncheon on February 10, 2012 to receive the Award and to give us a glimpse into their phenomenal coaching program. I am also pleased to announce the Honorable Mention recipient, Booz Allen Hamilton. The consulting company’s coaching program, focused on the firm’s senior leaders, is impressive and worthy of special recognition for its linking of performance outcomes with business needs and the incorporation of metrics into the coaching program. The nominating coach, Bill Pullen of BPA Coaching and Consulting, and Laura Mendelow, coaching and OD project manager at BAH, will also be recognized at the award luncheon. I hope that you will plan to attend this year’s Prism Award Luncheon. Not only will you be able to personally congratulate your coaching colleagues, but you will also come away with new insights into leadership coaching from the keynote presentation to be delivered by leadership guru, coach, author and speaker, Scott Eblin. Scott’s topic is “Coachable Moments: Leadership Tools You Can Use Every Day.” He will share insights on how leaders can find meaningful and practical coachable moments they can leverage every day to spur their team to greater success, engagement and productivity. This year’s event is bigger and better than ever, and I am sure that you will come away with new ideas, new contacts, and an even greater sense of commitment to our wonderful profession.
