Upon retirement from the federal government in 2004, Don Peterson began his professional executive leadership coaching and development practice. Don’s practice is devoted to working with federal managers and their organizations to adapt to change, discover and maximize strengths, improve performance, facilitate new approaches to problem solving, create a higher level of work/life satisfaction, and generate amazing results. He supports every client to achieve greater self-awareness and produce "deep" learning that can be sustained long after the coaching relationship is over.

Don has more than 20 years of federal government management and executive experience, including nine years as a senior executive. He has served in a variety of line and staff positions at the executive level. During his federal career, Don successfully played lead roles in a variety of major change initiatives. He led the development of new automated systems, oversaw restructuring of major processes, and was a leader in the move to participative management, labor-management partnership and stakeholder collaboration.

Don has a degree in accounting from Utah State University and an MBA (Business, Economics and Public Policy) from George Washington University. He is a graduate of the Federal Executive Institute and a variety of management and leadership development programs. Don is a graduate of the Newfield Network Coaching and Organizational Learning Program, 5-Rings, Coaching Excellence in Organizations and is currently enrolled in the Strozzi Institute’s Somatic Coaching program. He is certified in the MBTI personality type assessment, the EQ-i and EQ-360 emotional intelligence assessments.
