What Our Membership Director Does

The membership director is responsible for welcoming new members, as well as creating and implementing ways to recruit and retain members.

The membership director’s ongoing responsibilities include but are not limited to:

New Member Welcome

  • Review chapter membership list (obtained from ICF Global) and identify new members
  • Contact new ICF members to orient them to the Metro DC chapter (meetings/website/how to get involved).
  • Develop and distribute new member packets.

Member Recruitment, Retention, and Development

  • Contact and encourage lapsed ICF members to return.
  • Provide ICF membership information to non-ICF members who attend meetings.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding membership.
  • Staff Membership Central at all ICF meetings including:
    • Membership applications.
    • List of member benefits.
    • Information on ICF credentialing.
    • Information about ICF Metro DC.
  • Provide outreach and connection opportunities to active chapter members.

ICF Credentials Mentoring Program

  • Enlist MCCs and PCCs as mentors.
  • Match mentors to coaches seeking credentials.
  • Review evaluations and modify program, as needed.
