What Our Professional Development Director Does

The director of professional development is responsible for developing and carrying out innovative programming dedicated to the ongoing education of member and non-member coaches in the Metro DC area and beyond.

The professional development director’s ongoing responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Solicit speaker proposals, review proposal and speaker credentials and attend presentations where necessary to vet speaker for appropriateness for a chapter program.
  • Match speakers with program dates.
  • Maintain communication with speaker prior to event and advise of headcount.
  • Manage CCEU applications and forward to ICF headquarters for approval. Prepare CCEU certificates for distribution at meeting.
  • Write announcement for upcoming presentations.
  • Coordinate with chapter administrative assistant to identify meeting rooms/location, food and beverage needs and selections, audio-visual needs, etc., and negotiate contracts for signage where necessary.
  • Monitor registration editor and assist communications director with additional reminders where necessary.
  • Set up member resource table and encourage participation.
  • Maintain evaluation form master and provide ample copies at each program.
  • Collect completed evaluations following program and review with speaker.
  • Maintain monthly follow-up files for use in future programming.
